Origin - Rajma did not originate in India. It was first grown in Mexico, carried back to Europe by the Portuguese, and then brought to us through the south-western coast of India. Rajma is the Indian name for red kidney beans. These are soaked, cooked & then simmered with onions, tomatoes & spices to make the dish, Rajma masala. It is also just referred as rajma.The Dish mostly serve with Rice.
